Elope in Ferne Clyffe State Park - Shawnee Forest

Located on Illinois Route 37, just one mile south of Goreville and 12 miles south of Marion, this giant park is easily accessible from both I-57 and I-24. Ferne Clyffe has so many beautiful locations to shoot with water, ferns, bluffs, lush greenery, bridges, pathways, and a stunning waterfall. Matt & Amber really lucked out and it rained the day before their elopement as well as on their wedding day. Some may find this as a deterrent but we were thrilled because it gave us the prettiest sky and waterfall. After spending some time at the waterfall and doing first looks the couple went to Cliff View Park just down the road in Alto Pass, IL. Here they met up with a small group of friends to exchange their vows before heading to a small intimate dinner. Everything was very intentional and special to them & I am so honored to get to capture my friends so happy together. I loved that they chose a location that they go to frequently to unwind. They chose the lookout where they go frequently on Sunday drives & look at Bald Knob Cross. They chose their favorite quiet time together & celebrated it. It was beautiful.
