An Intimate Garden of the Gods Micro Wedding | Alexis + Gage
Alexis and Gage’s southern Illinois micro wedding was straight out of a dream. Nestled in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest, these two chose to say “I do” surrounded by stunning cliffs, golden light, and their closest family and friends.
The afternoon began at the Shawnee Treehouse Cabin, tucked away among the trees. The couple shared a private first look on the suspension bridge, a quiet and emotional moment that set the tone for the rest of their day. From there, everyone made their way to the Garden of the Gods which is one of the most breathtaking wedding locations in Illinois. With the sandstone formations towering around them, Alexis and Gage exchanged heartfelt vows overlooking the cliffs. Their ceremony was intimate, personal, and filled with emotion, the kind of moment that reminds you why small weddings are so special. Afterward, we went on an adventure hike together, exploring the trails and climbing out onto the rock formations for their wedding portraits. The soft evening light and panoramic views made it the perfect ending to their unforgettable day.
If you’re dreaming of a Garden of the Gods elopement or micro wedding in southern Illinois, this is your sign. Between the incredible views, peaceful atmosphere, and endless photo opportunities, it’s one of the most beautiful places to get married in the Midwest.
